Terrence Malick's meditation on love and the disintegration of a relationship wafts along to no particular purpose.
The auteur also takes a perverse pleasure in drowning out his leading man Ben Affleck, who is sidelined while Olga Kurylenko constantly spins around annoyingly. Yet, for all its pretension, drowned-out sound and lack of characterisation, this meditative drama still manages to be oddly moving.
