Sebastian Junger's excellent tribute documents an intense, courageous, moral, intelligent and engaging individual, whose evocative photographs – mostly taken of soldiers in combat– endeavoured to get to the heart of “human nature”. His images of exhausted, sleeping US soldiers in Afghanistan are inspired and profoundly moving.
