When a gang of good-looking students goes to stay in the eponymous holiday accommodation, they’re soon being menaced by supernatural forces.
So far, so familiar. But Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Avengers Assemble) and Drew Goddard (Cloverfield) have written a clever and hugely entertaining postmodern horror-comedy that plays with our expectations right up to the gloriously deranged finale.
