Just in case you haven't had your fill of vampires, here's another outing for the fanged ones.

And this time, they've gone corporate. It's 2019, and pharmaceutical companies are farming humans for blood. But there's a shortage, and things are set to get nasty unless haematologist Edward Dalton (Ethan Hawke) can come up with a substitute – or a cure. The dialogue and pacing aren't so sharp, but the world is well realised, with its dark cityscapes and icily de-saturated tones lending a film noir, cyberpunk feel. And there are plenty of neat details that have fun with the genre – blood is sold stirred into Starbucks-style coffees, and health and safety announcements warn of approaching sunrise.
