This slickly scripted new interpretation of Oscar Wilde's novel stars Ben Barnes as the handsome aristocrat who will never age as long as his portrait does it for him, and Colin Firth as the ultimate bad influence.
Thanks to some cut-price sets and special effects, it's never much more than a slice of Hammer hokum, but it's a very watchable one as long as Gray is giving in to vice. Alas, once he becomes jaded and remorseful, the fun drains out of the film as surely as it does from its anti hero's life.
