When it came out at the cinema, Martin McDonagh's postmodern crime comedy alienated those In Bruges fans who were hoping for a straightforward retread of his beloved debut film.
But the repeat viewings offered by the DVD should raise Seven Psychopaths in people's estimation. Yes, it's tricksy, but McDonagh's intellectual game-playing is balanced by his genuine concerns about the morality of action movies.
