Palestinian-Israeli director Elia Suleiman draws on his and his father's life narratives for a 60-year history of his homeland told through a series of vignettes.
Beginning with the 1948 surrender of Nazareth to Israeli soldiers, Suleiman plays a silent observer of events, sometimes droll, sometimes melancholic, and displaying the sort of level-headedness one wishes those involved in the peace process would show.
