Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck follows up The Lives of Others with a romantic tribute to the kind of glamorous crime caper which Cary Grant starred in 50 years ago.

Angelina Jolie stars as a master thief's mistress; Johnny Depp is the teacher she picks up on the train to Venice to throw the police off her lover's scent. It certainly looks good, but it's slow and stately where it needs to be fast and fun.
