"Too many trolls are out and about," says Hans (the comedian Otto Jespersen) to three wide-eyed Norwegian students keen on filming reported bear sightings in the mountains.
The youngsters are dubious about the glum, bearded Hans, who deals in Christian-eating trolls, not bears – until they see mammoth, three-headed beasts lumbering through the deep, dark Norwegian woods. Andre Ovredal's memorable mockumentary, with its Blair Witch-style camerawork, isn't quite as enjoyable as its title suggests, but Hans and the trolls are convincing and there are a few good gags, notably Hans playing "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" to a huge troll.
