Based on Jan Terlouw's children's novel of the same name, this Dutch film is based around the Netherlands' Hunger Winter of 1944 and asks interesting questions about collusion and the lengths people might go to to stay alive during the Nazi occupation.
Following the story of a 16-year-old boy who is determined to help a crashed RAF pilot, it is not quite on the level of that other Dutch war film of late, Black Book – but it's a lot safer to watch with teenagers.
