A fearless girl in the stark Missouri backwoods, her family are threatened with eviction if she can't find her missing father, who has put up their home as collateral on his bail. The desolate landscape is as harsh as her local kin, who are none too pleased with her snooping. A tough, gritty film, masterfully executed.
