Kristin Scott Thomas plays another of her fine-boned, high-strung madames in this odd two-hander. She is Anna Cooper, a gynaecology surgeon who's been mysteriously abducted outside her Paris apartment.
Her kidnapper, it transpires, is an angry 30-ish man (Pio Marmai) burning to take violent revenge on her ("You ruined my life"). Why? The nature of her offence is soon revealed, though the puzzler is how a perverse bond becomes established between abductor and victim.
Scott Thomas hasn't a great deal to work with, though even within those confines she subtly conveys a character waking up to her own loneliness.
