Paramount Noah Baumbach's second dysfunctional family comedy is so unsparing that there are some scenes even more shockingly intimate than the one with a naked Jack Black in it.

Nicole Kidman stars as a neurotic Manhattan writer who visits her childhood home to see her sister, Jennifer Jason Leigh, getting married to the slobbish, unemployed Black. The sisters' verbal fencing is an Olympic-standard exchange of insults, innuendo and glancing references to their painful shared history. It's insightful, razor sharp, and definitely not to be watched with your relatives.
