Danny Donnelly's cautionary tale about a premiership footballer (Adam Deacon) blackmailed by his old mates has such modest production values that it evokes memories of old episodes of Grange Hill.
There is a cameo from Geoff Hurst as a football agent but the pick of the performances is from David Ajala, who brings intensity, menace and humour to the villain consumed with jealousy about his friend's success.
