Hot on the heels of last week's Exiled comes another Johnnie To film, this time set over a single night of violence in Hong Kong and centring upon the frantic efforts of a police sergeant to recover his stolen gun. In desperation, he turns for help to a crack Police Tactical Unit – ergo the title. The droll opening, set in a restaurant where the pecking order is rigorously observed, gives way to a complicated but uninvolving cat-and-mouse game between the police and rival gangs.
