Maybe there's something about Nascar racing which is fundamentally unsuited to the cinema. The Nascar-themed Cars was the worst film to come out of the Pixar garage, and now Will Ferrell's follow-up to Anchorman freewheels along without ever getting into gear. You can only watch him shouting and running around in his underwear for so long before the joke wears thin.
