The Brave One (18)

The urban avenger returns, this time as a New York DJ played by Jodie Foster. Having survived a gang assault, Foster takes to carrying a gun – and uses it, too, on any scumbag who dares cross her. When a police detective begins to suspect her, the film briefly promises to go somewhere interesting. Alas, moral niceties are blown away in a frenzy of retribution, and a "controversial" ending undoes any plausibility.
