This animated reworking of the Ark story doesn't feature any religious references and there is no sign of Noah either. The main characters are a pair of "Nestrians," brightly coloured gonks with snout noses initially refused admission to the big boat.

The 10-year-old Finny and his dad Dave smuggle themselves on board by pretending to be "Grymps," dingo-like animals already on the list to be saved. Their plan works but then Finny and young Grump girl manage to miss the boat anyway when the floods come.

A German-made kids' movie, Two by Two is cheery, innocuous fare, sentimental but with some spirited chases and slapstick sequences. The pick of the creatures is an "Obesey," a blubbery, good natured creature which can't work out whether it is a slug or a whale.
