The 2020 ceremony will see Noone conduct the 42-piece orchestra through sections of the five nominated scores.
Described as “the Irish Queen of Game Music”, Noone is one of the industry’s most celebrated composers, having also written the award-winning score for Warlords of Draenor.
Talking to Classic FM, Noone said: “It is an honour to be invited to conduct some of the finest orchestral musicians in the world in representing the work of the film industry’s most iconic composers.”
Noone also presents a show on the radio station called High Score, which is dedicated to video game music.
The five nominated scores this year are Hildur Guðnadóttir's for Joker, Alexandre Desplat's for Little Women, Randy Newman's for Marriage Story, Thomas Newman's for 1917, and John Williams' for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
The ceremony will take place in the US on 9 February. Sky Cinema Oscars will be streaming the awards live through the night.
