The Queen visits Moorfields Eye Hospital, London EC1, to celebrate its centenary; and attends a reception given by the Royal College of Nursing at Marlborough House, London SW1, to mark the centennial meeting of the International Council of Nurses and the biennial meeting of the Commonwealth Nurses Federation. The Duke of Edinburgh, President, attends the Judges and Stewards Dinner at the Royal Norfolk Showground, Costessey, Norfolk. The Prince of Wales, Patron, Bath Abbey Quincentenary Development Campaign, attends a service at Bath Abbey to mark its 500th anniversary. The Princess Royal opens a new cancer clinic at the Harley Street Clinic, London W1; and opens the Hospital for Tropical Diseases at Cecil Fleming House, Grafton Way, London WC1. The Duke of Kent, President, All England Lawn Tennis Club, attends the Open Tournament at Wimbledon, London SW19; and, as Royal Patron, attends a reception for the Dresden Trust at Goldsmiths' Hall, London EC2.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; F Company Scots Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Irish Guards/Scots Guards.
