A dream bill is headlined by hip-hop's most skilful and articulate practitioners - The Roots, who, after years of critical acclaim, are now a massive act in the States entering the album charts at number four. Jurassic 5, who have done so much to shift the climate of hip-hop to a happy place in this country, are chief support, and are joined by their LA pals, Ozomatli, whose fusion of Latino party music and hip-hop won over seemingly everyone who got to see them on their recent UK debut tour. Make sure you get there early for the vintage laid-back sounds of Detroit's excellent SlumVillage, a real treat in the tradition of A Tribe Called Quest. And, with Dr Dooom, DJ Cash Money and a slew of others on the bill this is a very big night out in Brixton.

Brixton Academy, London SW9 (0171-771 2000) today, 7pm-2am
