In Brief
Sir: In your account of the troubles of the Royal Armouries at Leeds (31 July) you repeat the propaganda that when they were at the Tower of London "up to nine-tenths of the collection was never seen by visitors". This is strictly true. But what has never been made clear publicly is that the bulk of the nine-tenths comprises hundreds of identical service arms from the old national arsenal which would bore the public stiff if they were all to be put on show.
