Sir: I'm glad that someone has raised the subject of BBC pronunciation (letter, 24 April). In addition to "sick" for "sixth", Phil Smith might have mentioned "drawring" "withdrawring" and so on for drawing, withdrawing, etc. Or "sekertary". "Deteriate" has become almost universal. Are standards deteriorating?
