Sir: Kathy Marks drew attention to the legal action taken on behalf of two people removed from their families as children because they were Aboriginal ("Aborigines sue over stolen childhood", 11 August).

Today the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination will consider Australia's record on indigenous land rights.

We urge the Australian government to repeal its racist laws and to make a formal apology to the stolen generation.
