Sir: The BBC World Television service could start by spending its "minimal budget" more effectively.

Rather than jet "names" such as Kate Adie and Brian Hanrahan around the world to read out pompous prepared statements, BBC World should be using the real reporters who are on the spot facing the dangers and actually aware of what is happening.
