Sir: Now that the media hysteria over the European ban on the import of British beef has died down, it would seem a good time to consider where the industry goes now.
Assume, for a minute, that all the EU countries drop their ban on importing British beef. Will consumers in the EU actually want to buy it? If they did, could the British beef industry meet the demand? As I understand it, there is only one processing plant licensed to export British beef.
Still , it was a good story while it lasted.
