Sir: Tony Blair is being allowed to distort the terms of the argument about public services by claiming that the issue is attitude to change. The issue is whether Tony Blair or those who know and do the job are the best judges of the changes that are needed. Would Tony Blair consent to do his job entirely according to performance indicators formed and imposed by academics?
