Carroll's burrows

Sir: Lewis Carroll (Charles Dodgson) did not "grow up" in Yorkshire ("Alice's adventure inside geology", 15 September) but here in Daresbury, Halton, where he was born and lived for the first 11 years of his life. As for the source of the rabbit holes, you need only visit my garden and our churchyard to see where the true source of his inspiration lies. Cheshire rabbits must have far better excavation skills than their Yorkshire friends and relations.

The Reverend DAVID FELIX

Vicar of Daresbury

Cheshire
