Letter: Curb car adverts
Sir: The most effective way to prevent the increase in the number of cars on the road (letters, 25, 26 November) is to curtail, or ban, car advertising on TV and billboards. Just as with other pursuits, such as smoking, that the public have not been able to stop themselves from abusing, the time has come to take the glamour out and stop leading us into temptation. Most car adverts are indistinguishable from each other and a pack of lies in any case - but they do make you want to drive.
