Sir: The pub whose beer and prices illustrated Hamish McRae's article "Don't write off the euro - well, not just yet anyway" (Review, 27 May) appears to offer a pint of Guinness for pounds 2.15 or 1.67 euros; using the euro exchange rate correctly, that's a mere pounds 1.10 (or a little more in Ireland) - a bargain.
Is this an argument for keeping the pound - if, that is, the barman at this eurotopian pub hasn't noticed his error and the offer still holds?
