Sir: Professor Dawkins, like many scientists who support the genetic modification of our food, fails to understand people's fear about it.

I am not afraid of genetic modification because I do not understand it; I fear it primarily because those who are responsible for carrying out this work are arrogantly confident that they have everything under control. His letter has only added to my concerns.
