Sir: Your report about Alan McGee ("Oasis boss quits label in search of new discoveries", 26 November) was incorrect in respect of BBC GLR.

Although I recently met Mr McGee and others to discuss their concerns over our plans to change GLR, neither the BBC chairman nor anyone else at the BBC has ever invited him to discuss the "offer" he made in a rival newspaper to buy the station. GLR is not for sale; on the contrary, we intend to nurture it with fresh investment and support as an important BBC public service for London.
