Sir: If the Government is not just paying lip service to "sustainability" how can it agree to further building on Green Belt sites? (report, 15 February). Developers might not be so keen to build on greenfield sites if value-added tax on conversions in urban areas were abolished or reduced. Gordon Brown might even suggest a greenfield tax.
