Letter: In Brief

Sir: I have read with interest the correspondence concerning cyclists riding on pavements. I would like to point out to C Saunders (letter, 7 May) that only when our roads are clear of poor drivers will we be able to encourage cyclists to cease riding on pavements. I am fortunate that in nine years of cycling I have only been struck twice by motorists. I am a cyclist who never cycles on pavements and who has not one, but two, third-party insurance policies.
