Sir: Why on earth is the age of an employee an issue? What a ridiculous thing to consider when looking for excellence. As director of a medium- sized charity I must recruit the best person for the job. If he happens to be 60 - as is one recently appointed colleague - he brings skills, experience, maturity, level-headedness. There are no disadvantages and many advantages.
