Sir: The acceptance of GM food by worldwide regulatory bodies has been based largely on the fact of its approval within the USA. Now we find that the US administration has been lying all along in insisting that its regulatory system for GM crops was thorough ("GM industry turns on its latest critics", 15 July). It is to be hoped that the people of America wake up to this threat to their health and food supply.
