Sir: When I renewed my annual season ticket on Thameslink this April, the cost from St Albans to King's Cross had risen from pounds 1,932 to pounds 2,080 - an increase of 7.6 per cent. I was, therefore, surprised to read (report, 19 August) that the Central Rail Users' Consultative Committee's annual report says Thameslink "reduced fares in real terms". Their definition of real is clearly different from mine.
