Sir: My blood boiled when I read about the new special unit being set up for Britain's three most dangerous criminals (report, 25 August). I feel that any normal citizen reading the chilling report about Robert Maudsley, who has killed and mutilated three fellow inmates whilst in prison, would feel that there can be no justification whatsoever in letting this creature live. Therefore, I call for the return of humane capital punishment in such cases.
