Sir: I was interested to read Hunter Davies's account of using the new techology now available on digital TV ("Well, Brian, you can't afford bad interactivity at this level", 23 August). But he doesn't have to wait to get e-mail. He can easily install e-mail facilities on his old Amstrad PCW. I had e-mail (and much else) on my Amstrad for several years and it was most efficient. The Amstrad may be slow and outdated, but it was an excellent machine.
