Sir: In response to Paul Latham (letter, 13 November) one should point out that there are a smattering of thuggish lawbreakers among the fox-hunting community.

A hunt enthusiast from Cheshire has recently been sentenced to 15 months in jail for an attack on the director of the League Against Cruel Sports. His conviction brings to 12 the number of hunt supporters this year convicted of violent offences against those opposed to hunting.
