Sir: In fairness to the woman so scornfully observed by Frances Cornford ("To a fat lady seen from a train: Triolet", 7 December) while innocently enjoying a stroll, you ought to quote the riposte:

O why do you ride through the fields in trains

Pale pink poet from the Bloomsbury drains?

Why do you ride through the fields in trains;

Missing so much and so much?
