Sir: In the US everyone has a 3-digit area code and 7-digit phone number. Here we have a farrago of 3, 4 and 5 digit area codes and 4, 5, 6, 7 and now 8 digit phone numbers. My aunt's phone number in California hasn't changed in at least 25 years. Just what are Oftel and BT playing at?
