Sir: It is cheering to see peer-mentoring in the changes to sex education under the Government's drive to cut teenage pregnancies ("Named: worst areas for teen pregnancies", 15 June). Our PeerAid sexual health project involves pupils in 35 schools nationwide, demonstrating that when it comes to sex, STDs or teenage pregnancy, young people are more likely to listen to their peers than to adults. They run their own workshops and are much more effective educators (in this particular area) than their teachers.
