Sir: So, you have no need to worry about credit card fraud when using the Internet (Buying Online, 29 September)? Last month I got a credit card statement for July which debited me with $300 for seven transactions with US firms that I had never even heard of, and certainly never dealt with. I had at that time never once given my credit card number to anyone over the Internet, apart from my service provider. If you are on the Internet, check your credit card statements very closely.
