Sir: The most frightening aspect of the control of our lives through computerised records described in "Futuristic Notes" (30 September) is that it will be implemented, not by wild control freaks, but by sober decent people, who regard themselves as liberals, mouthing that most appalling phrase, "It's for your own good."
