Sir: You carried a beautiful photograph of deer grazing in Richmond Park at dawn (Home News, 19 November). The reality, at other times of the day, is rather less idyllic.

At rush hour, a more or less continuous stream of motor vehicles fills each of the park roads.

If we want to preserve the tranquillity and fragile ecology of our remaining open spaces, surely the time has come to keep the traffic out.
