Sir: Your story, "Irvine broke law for adviser" (21 May), was wrong in that the employment tribunal did not find that the Lord Chancellor breached race discrimination law when he appointed his special adviser. It dismissed claims of racial discrimination. The tribunal found that there had been indirect sexual discrimination in respect of one applicant. The Lord Chancellor intends to appeal against this finding.
