Sir: Is David Aaronovitch seriously comparing the Dome ("Cult of miserabilism", 5 November) to Ely or York Cathedral? Is Damien Hirst perhaps on a par with Giotto? I hate the products The Independent often promotes as examples of culture, but no, sir, I'm not miserable. Posterity will laugh itself silly that so many lapped up so much PR-promoted trash and created such a miserable cultural product.
