Letter: MPs' private lives

Sir: Ron Davies may well ask what democratic purpose is served by the persecution he has suffered at the hands of the press. There is little point in asking it of the Blair government, however, which does nothing to rescue the press and other media from the predation of Rupert Murdoch. Sales are all that matter in an uncontrolled market that is open to monopolists.
