Sir: The Opposition leader's efforts to reshape Conservative Party policy seem to be an uphill struggle, if the comments of MP Gary Streeter are to be believed ("Hague says low tax is Christian policy", 16 November). Of the last 18 years of Conservative policy he says, "We appeared to become more concerned about pounds, shillings and pence than wider, deeper values".
Presumably Mr Streeter is not in favour of decimalisation.
